Family Summer Reading Program

at the Giese Memorial-Wyoming Area Library

Calling all world travelers!  Hop on board for the Giese Memorial/Wyoming Area Library’s 2011 summer reading program, One World, Many Stories.  Readers from preschool thru grade 6 are invited to participate.  The program will run from Tuesday, June 14 thru Tuesday, August 9.

On Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 am in the library’s meeting room, join us as musician Ross Sutter presents music and songs of Scandinavia, Scotland and Ireland. Ross accompanies himself on guitar, dulcimer, button accordion and bodhran, the Irish goat-skin drum.  Music from other parts of the world will both educate and entertain you and your child.  This event is funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.  Limited amount of free tickets will be available at the library starting June 5.

Throughout the summer there will be a variety of programs and activities for kids of all ages including storytime, contests and more.  Stop by Giese Memorial/Wyoming  Area Library and pick up a flyer listing all the activities and program guidelines.  Each child will receive a reading record to keep track of their reading over the summer and may earn incentives as they read.

Teens ages 12-16 and adults can sign-up to be part of the Family Summer Reading Program, too! The teen theme is “You Are Here” and the adult theme is “Novel Destinations.”  Both teens and adults can stop by the library and pick up a flyer listing events and guidelines for their specific program.

Travel the world over this summer and join the One World, Many Stories or You Are Here summer reading programs at the Giese Memorial/Wyoming Area Library starting June 14.

Stay tuned for times and further details as they become available, until then see you all June 14th!!
